THE POOL is a project that explores the sensations of our body in the aquatic dimension.
The short film «The Swimming Pool» shows a space in constant change, defined by the rhythm between sound and silence coming from a flute connected to the waves of the sea. Where the sea is heard through the waves one by one, but not seen, where the subject loses the sensation of gravity.
The AV installation «Underwater» reproduces the spatial sensation underwater in a specially built parallelepiped, where sound is heard and images are projected from the outside on its translucent walls. It proposes to enter it, and see and hear a temporal sequence of underwater space as if we were underwater, but not.
Finally, the author extracts from them new formal proposals, this time static and definitive. Reflecting on how the speed of the video also influences perception and the frames no longer reproduce the same sensation of movement and the heavier colors approach the world of painting. How by stopping the video and extracting singular images, the ethereal appears as corporeal and water becomes colored stains.
LA PISCINA es un proyecto que explora las sensaciones de nuestro cuerpo en la dimensión acuática.
El cortometraje «LA PISCINA» muestra un espacio en constante cambio, definido por el ritmo entre el sonido y el silencio procedente de una flauta conectada a las olas del mar. Donde el mar se oye a través de las olas una a una, pero no se ve, donde el sujeto pierde la sensación de gravedad.
La instalación audiovisual «Underwater» reproduce la sensación espacial bajo el agua en un paralelepípedo especialmente construido, donde se escucha el sonido y se proyectan imágenes desde el exterior sobre sus paredes translúcidas. Propone entrar en él, y ver y oír una secuencia temporal del espacio submarino como si estuviéramos bajo el agua, pero no lo estuviéramos.
Finalmente, el autor extrae de ellos nuevas propuestas formales, esta vez estáticas y definitivas. Reflexiona sobre cómo la velocidad del vídeo también influye en la percepción y los fotogramas ya no reproducen la misma sensación de movimiento y los colores más pesados se acercan al mundo de la pintura. Cómo al detener el vídeo y extraer imágenes singulares, lo etéreo aparece como corpóreo y el agua se convierte en manchas de color.
