The architect Benedetta Tagliabue (EMBT / Enric Miralles Foundation) and the stage manager Alex Ollé (La Fura dels Baus) conducted in 2014 an important intervention in the city. Within the commemoration of Tricentenari BCN, curated but Toni Soler and organised by the City Council some of the most iconic public spaces Barcelona changed their look with a set of seven artistic and architectural installations that proposed a reflection on concepts such as identity, freedom and democracy.
The exhibition BCN RESET MAKING OF reflects the creative process of design and construction of the set of 7 installations plus special events that composed the project BCN RE.SET.
These 7 installations created during the summer 2014 a circuit of ephemeral architecture in Barcelona most distinguished public squares. They have been designed by 6 international architects in collaboration with the leading schools of architecture and design and architecture collective of the city and are part of the events Tricentenari BCN commemorating the 300 years of 1714, historical date in Catalonia.
The exhibition highlights the innovative and experimental nature of the project, with special attention to their implementation and cultural content through a myriad of events related to the concepts of each facility, such as identity, freedom, diversity, democracy, memory and Europe.
